The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established a working relationship in order to promote commercial advantages between each other. The main objective is to attract future global business, move more cargo to Florida through the port, which will help promote jobs in this state.

The agreement hopes to bring new strategic, distribution, and manufacturing facilities to Volusia County. This will provide an opportunity for county businesses to gain access to the congestion-free transportation network. The port of Jacksonville and county officials will meet to share information and prepare companies to expand and locate in the county and how the team can better serve them.
